Our staff team:
Rev Tim Meathrel - Vicar
Tim is married to Kate, a secondary school teacher and they have two daughters Rebekah (6) and Anna (4). Tim was previously Associate Vicar at Christ Church Clifton, a large Charismatic and Evangelical church in Bristol. Before that, he spent 6 years at St Johns, Harborne, in Birmingham diocese having left Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, where he trained for the ordained ministry.
Tim is also the Assistant Head of Ministry for New Wine’s International Ministry, where, from time to time, he has the privilege to travel to different countries to support and equip local churches as they seek to transform their nations.
Tim will watch any sport and is particularly keen on his beloved Plymouth Argyle! But with all those girls in the family he is quite outnumbered! However, he does still manage to find time for the occasional round of golf and trip to a Test match.
Tim and Kate are passionate about the local church as God’s plan A for the transformation of our nation. They love God and they love people and feel truly blessed and humbled to have been called to work at Emmanuel.
Rev Johnny Douglas - Associate Vicar
Johnny has served in church life for many years with a passion for equipping people to be all that God wants them to be. Over the years he has continued to serve other churches and groups in discipleship and mission freelance roles. Prior to ordination he had a background in architecture, organisational management and church leadership. He has lived in Staffordshire and Essex before coming to London, though most of his growing up years were spent in Northern Ireland, and the accent still holds!
Seeing people flourish in life with Jesus is what gives him greatest satisfaction. So the goal of whole life discipleship applied in our lives is a passionate priority for him and part of the attraction in joining Emmanuel.
Johnny and his wife Julie share a blended family of four who live near and far. Julie is an adoption specialist with a local authority and loves to serve children and families, and together with Johnny loves serving in Northwood and beyond.

Rev Helen Wilkinson - Associate Vicar Eastbury Church
Helen came to Northwood in 2008. She had been a teacher for many years, before the new century brought a fresh calling from God, and she was ordained in 2004. She was curate of St Nicolas, Newbury, in West Berkshire for four years, and then took up responsibility for Eastbury Church. She loves the theatre, art exhibitions, and films from the golden age of Hollywood, and enjoys holidays in the sun wherever there is plenty of history and art to explore.
Rachael Hutchins - Operations Manager
Rachael has spent most of her life in Surrey and Gloucestershire and would definitely call herself a country girl, but has now been living in or very near London since 2010. Before joining the Emmanuel staff team in April 2015 she spent 10 years working in church administration in two other churches - one in central London and one in Reigate, Surrey.
Rachael enjoys admin, organising, sorting things out and problem solving. In her own time she loves singing (and music in general), musicals, making things (when time allows), doing up her new house, Disney movies and summertime. She is married to Chris who is a freelance Locations Manager in the TV and film industry.

Christine Britton - Children's and Families Minister (job share)
Christine grew up in Melbourne, Australia. She has a deep love for Music, starting the drums at 8 and going on to learn the piano and the trumpet. Christine trained as a Podiatrist in Melbourne, and in 1998 decided to travel to London to "see the world". She worked as a podiatrist in the NHS for ten years and during that time went to Bible School where she met her husband, Malcolm. Malcolm is an Assistant Head Teacher at a local secondary school and they have three children - Austin, Ted and Annabel. Christine works as a peripatetic drum teacher at a local primary school, becoming their Music Specialist in 2012. She loves writing songs and cooking, especially desserts, and makes a mean chocolate pavlova.
As well as being employed 2.5 days a week as our Children's Minister (specifically focussing on schools work and Sundays) Christine heads up our Worship team.
Ruth Mugglestone - Children's and Families Minister (job share)
Ruth grew up in Northwood and has worshipped at Emmanuel her whole life! She met her husband, Mark, here and they live in Rickmansworth with their 3 children - Becca and Sarah, both primary school teachers, and Dan who is doing his A levels - as well as a crazy dog called Millie.
Ruth spent 13 years working as a teaching assistant in a local primary school. Alongside Sarah Altman, she has been involved on and off with the Children's ministry at Emmanuel over a number of years. Some of the things that make her happy are baking, snow, dog walks, sunny days and family times :)
Lorraine Hall - Administrator
Lorraine has lived in the local area for over 30 years and Northwood for 14 of them.
After working in Further Education for many years, she now enjoys the smaller, family atmosphere of the Emmanuel Office. The short five minute walk to work up the High Street leaves her more time for her various hobbies, including gardening and quilting. She can turn her hand to many things, just don't ask her to sing - as a child she was allowed to remain in the school choir only on the understanding that she mimed...
Lorraine is married to Stephen, who works in the charity sector, with one grown up daughter, Sarah.
Siobhan Gale - Secretary
Although born in Germany, Siobhan has lived in the Northwood area nearly all her life. She has been worshipping at Emmanuel since 1984, and she met her husband Geoff here and was married here in 1990. Siobhan studied German and French at Birmingham University while squeezing in as much amateur dramatics as possible. After thirteen years of working in commercial environments she joined the office staff at Emmanuel in 2001. Amongst other things she enjoys singing, folk rock, landscape photography, Thai (or just about any) food and curling up with a glass of wine and a good book.
