Focused on God  |  Committed to one another  |  Involved in his world

The Parish of Emmanuel Church Northwood (ECN) believes that safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all those who are vulnerable (children, young people and vulnerable adults).   We expect all of our staff, volunteers and those who use our premises to share this commitment and value the support of those who worship here in achieving this.

ECN has adopted a formal policy on protecting children from abuse and all who are involved with our children and young people’s group are DBS checked. This forms part of our wider commitment to nurture and support children, providing a safe environment in which they can grow and flourish spiritually, emotionally, physically and socially. It is the responsibility of all who are involved with children and young people in the Parish under the age of 18 to work within these policies to promote these aims and to help in the prevention of abuse.

ECN has also adopted a formal policy for Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults. It is the Christian duty of everyone to recognise and support those who are identified as being more vulnerable. In supporting a vulnerable person we must do so with compassion and in a way that maintains dignity.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding safeguarding at ECN, or wish to report an issue (current or historic), please contact our Parish Safeguarding Officer by emailing
