EastburyEastbury is a growing, friendly, family of Christians, and with ages ranging from 0 to 80+ and a dozen nationalities represented, you are sure of a warm welcome.

There is a strong Biblical basis, emphasis on reverence in worship, prayerful evangelism, sincere and close fellowship, and a desire for discipleship.

Brief History of Eastbury
Eastbury began in 1997 with a weekly Sunday morning service. Its history, however, goes back to 1994 when an annual Easter Holiday Club first started.

Eastbury is part of the Church of England, and is a ‘satellite’ congregation of Emmanuel Church in Northwood.

Sundays at Eastbury
10.00am - a one hour worship service with children’s / youth groups at Eastbury Farm Junior School, Bishops Avenue, Northwood. Holy Communion is on the third Sunday of the month. All-age services are held on major festivals. The service is reverent and lively, with a wide range of musicians and a regular singing group. Attendance is 80+, including about 25 children.

Youth and Children
Our Youth Group meets weekly on Fridays, in addition to Sundays. It has a wide range of activities including games, films, trips and discussions. The group is run by a part-time Youth Worker, and the group leads Sunday services about once a term.

We have two children’s groups which meet on Sunday mornings, and a weekly Friday evening club was launched in 2008.

Midweek Groups
There are three regular home groups for adults meeting at different times and days during the week to learn form the Bible and for informal discussion. These groups are a source of pastoral care, support, friendship and encouragement.

The church has also run Alpha Groups, a Parenting course, and a ‘Glad You Asked’ course.

The Church in the Community
Eastbury’s motto is ‘the church in the community for the community’. We have close links to Eastbury Farm School where two of our members are governors. The church takes School Assemblies each month, and we organize an annual Holiday Club and Light Party.

Each year we run an activity for local residents. Events have included an evening on the history of Northwood, and international evening, a Golden Jubilee party, a talk about the local NATO base, and an evening on green issues, ‘Hope for the Planet’, which led to the formation of a group for local residents seeking to get more involved with these issues.

Prayer
There is a monthly prayer meeting. In addition we meet to pray before each service, and there is a prayer ministry team available after the service. There is a ‘prayer card’ updated every two months. There are also a number of informal small groups, typically with 3 or 4 members, who meet regularly for mutual support, encouragement and prayer.

Mission Partners
We actively support three mission partners who have close ties to our church:

Daniel and Helen Chae, Operation Mobilisation http://www.om.org/

David and Sharon Morgan, Wycliffe Bible Translators http://www.wycliffe.org/

Brian Ladd, the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity http://www.licc.org.uk/
