Jesus said ‘Let the children come to me…’

Children and families are a key part of the life of our Church family here at Emmanuel: Come and join us!
We have safe, fun and friendly children’s groups running each Sunday as part of our 10:30 Family Service, as well as sessions for your children to enjoy during the week. Additional special events are run 2 or 3 times a term - look out for these under ‘Save the Date Specials’ on the Term Card below, and book early to avoid disappointment.

Our team are all enhanced DBS-checked, trained in safeguarding, and most have significant experience of working with children. The team is led by our Children & Families’ Pastor, Chris Nalder, who can be contacted here
We want our children to feel welcomed, cared for, and involved in their groups, clubs and events.
We believe children both connect with others and learn best when they are able to take part, have fun, & have a voice.
We believe God is interested in the whole of our lives, that God is for -and has good plans for- our children.

Sunday Groups @ 10.30am

Children are invited to go out to their group during the 10.30 service for an hour’s fun, engaging, interactive session. As well as a desire for our children to encounter God and follow His plan, we want our children to learn how the stories and teachings in the bible apply to, and benefit, their lives.
We believe God wants to equip His children of all ages for daily life and faith.
So we work hard to find ‘tools’ our children can use to build up their own faith.

Parents/Carers of those aged 2+ are welcome to either drop off and go back into church service, or stay to help them settle in the group.

Parents/Carers of Under-2s are welcome to either stay in the service (make use of the colourful area at the back of church if you like), or use the self-serve creche in Betty’s Room where the service is live-streamed.

If you are planning a first visit: We’d love to meet you! Please aim to arrive by 10/ 10.15am so we have time to welcome you, register your child(ren) and get you the necessary information.

Ages 2- 4 (PreSchool)

Sparklers leave their own tracer glow in the dark. Noone is too little to sparkle & glow when lit up with God’s love.
Free play - Games - Circle time - Singing - Bible Story - Colouring sheets - Craft - Prayer.

Reception-Year 2
(KS1)

Shine are alight wth God’s love, joy & hope: This is the group to grow & direct that light.
Group games - Praise & Worship - Bible Story - Animated Video - Voice feedback - Craft - Prayer - Take Home Tools.

Years 3- 6
(KS2)

Blaze are fanning into flame their faith.
Group games - Praise & Worship - Bible Time - Discussion/ Memory Verses - Animated videos - Activity Stations - Voice, Service & Leadership - Craft - Prayer - Take Home Tools.
